Salt Tour – a short trip to the South!

Salt has been central to the history of Bonaire. Ever since the Dutch arrived in Bonaire in 1636 salt has been harvested from the salt ponds in the South of Bonaire. During this tour you will learn about the history of the salt production and the associated slavery. You will see both the old and new salt ponds and pay a visit to the slave huts. En route you have a good chance of spotting flamingos!
This private guided tour to the salt ponds and slave huts takes about 1.5 hours and you will be accompanied by one of our expert tour guides who can tell you all about Bonaire.
